It Starts Here, Incorporated

  Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing therapeutic environment where individuals with communication challenges can develop the skills and confidence needed to successfully engage in their communities.

It Starts Here, Incorporated was founded in 2002 by Jameela Ferguson, M.S., CCC-SLP. Affectionately known as "Mrs. Jameela" by her clients, she began her career as a speech therapist in the school system, where she worked for four years before transitioning into private practice.

Since its founding, the agency has served clients ranging in age from six months to five years. Guided by Mrs. Jameela’s core belief—“the earlier the intervention, the better the outcome”—we remain committed to helping young children build a strong foundation for communication success.
